November 10, 2000 Pomplona Spain. A bright sunny day, but it feels cold.

Last night we slept in France and woke up to look out over lush fields and the Pyrenees surrounding us. We decided the thing to do was to take a hike up into the mountains.

The day before we had woken up to the sound of surf in San Sabastian.

The countryside is very neat and tidy. As we climbed up we passed whitewashed farmhouses, barking dogs and lots of sheep.

At the top we were on the French Spanish border, though there wasn't much difference between the way the valleys looked from up there. What is a border afterall?

Now it is time to get back on the road. Marianne found me a Basque beret so my head is warm.
